Improvements Take 1

This is our Home. Two of the bathrooms had "dated" wall paper in them when we bought the house. Here is a peak at how I've changed them, too bad I don't have a before shot... The outside of the house we haven't done a ton. Especially not that shows up in a far shot---so I guess we could post one more photo. We did mow and edge yesterday and scoop out the gutter, which was full of gravel and mud/dust. Umm, I guess I don't know how to move photos around yet----so the rock in the front flower bed photos were supposed to go right here but they are up top sorry. We put in the rock. I love the rock and will like it even better once we get some flowers in with those bushes.

I was informed that I didn't post the "big" bird. So here it is in all it's splendor....you can see how excited Daniel was to get a bigger bird, quite the big smile for him. I guess after this he wasn't quiet any more...broke right through the quiet, "I'm a little kid with a bunch of men hunting" (They were not the only ones hunting on the ranch, so there were adults he didn't know)

Turkeys

Daniel went on his first hunt this weekend. He seemed to enjoy himself. It probably helped that he got two birds. Grandpa, Dawn, D Ray and Daniel drove to a ranch about 2 hours from our house and hunted for 3 days. Grandpa and Dawn with a bow and D Ray and Daniel with a shotgun. It was fun to visit with everyone and the kids love being with family.

Update for Today

  • The cookies: Butterfingers and a new cookie that I don't have the name for but they are great. And I don't recommend trying to learn how to make frosting flowers right after you lift weights. You need a steady hand to learn more easily. My hand was definitely not steady.
  • Lindsey seems to have finally recovered from whatever it was that she had, Yeah!!!!
  • It seems a little empty around here now that our visitors have left.

Yummy recipe:

In a 15x10 pan lined with parchment(or foil) lay out as many graham crackers as you can.
Sprinkle 2 cups of mini marshmallows over crackers. Then combine 3/4 cup butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 teas cinnamon, 1 teas vanilla. Scoop mixture onto crackers.
Sprinkle 1 cup sliced almonds, 1 cup flaked coconut over crackers.
Bake at 350 for 14-15 min until browned. Cool completely. then cut in 2 inch squares and then cut squares into triangles.

Cookies Galore

Becca here again!!!
So, we had this baptism to go to tonight. My mom helped with the refreshments. I got up to get a drink last night and found my mother laboring over frosting flowers. She only ended up using half of them, so we had some to eat. My mom made these cookies today... we will have fun pigging out on the left overs tomorrow!! :)

Off to the Dr we go

Why are we sick? I wish I could say. How could I prevent it? I wish I knew. Lindsey has a temperature and I didn't even think she was sick. The last time this was the case the ears were infected, so I don't think I'll wait it out. Plus, she has been pretty grouchy so .......OFF to the DR we go...I'll let you know what they have to say , hopefully they can help. Unfortunately if seems she has caught a virus. Ears are clear, lungs clear, no strep. This afternoon she finally asked for food. I'm taking that as a good sign. It's been a long 36 hours.

Kleenex with lotion

With a new batch of some virus going around at our house I went out, ball cap and all, and got kleenex, so we can survive. They are so much better than so many other wiping of the nose material---that could get disgusting to mention. I will spare you and just say that the kleenex are fabulous, I had to get the ones with lotion because if I'm going to the effort to buy them at all why stop there? Get the ones that don't wipe your face off:)

Dress Shopping

Hi all-- Becca here!
I will probably play a backstage part as technical support. Cool huh? I am soooo exited that we finally got our OWN blog! Okay, on to the dress photos... At the end of the year our school will be throwing a "banquet" for this years graduating eighth graders. All attending graduates are supposed to dress up (some are going a lot dressier than others). We have been shopping around for dresses for a few months and finally stumbled upon the jackpot at Dillard's. We narrowed it down to the two best and I now must choose. They are both Jody California, cost the same, and super cute. It'll be a tough choice but I love both dresses.

Nobody understands anyone 18, including those who are 18.
